Clunk sound when starting to move or stopping
Searched and read the "clunking sound" posts, none seemed to describe my issue.
I have a 1999 Honda Accord.
When I start to move, or I'm about to come to a stop, I hear a "clunk" from what appears to be the driver side. Doesn't appear to be brake related cause when I'm stopping the brakes are engaged and I'll hear it just before the actual stop.
It sorta happens when the car sways frontward or backward with its moving motion....
Just had a right lower ball joint replaced, and new brake pads installed and the clunking is still there....
Sounds like it would be easy to diagnose at the shop but thought I'd ask here for starters...
Thoughts?
Thanks

Lift wheel off ground, grab at 3/9 o'clock and attemp to twist the tire w/ some force. Repeat for 6/12 o'clock positions. Any movement would indicate worn ball joints; upper or lower.
I agree Anti-sway bar bushings are possible. In my experience w/ worn anti-sway bar bushings, the noise would only occur when turning.
good luck

Don't really hear the "clunk" when turning, just during that swaying back/forth motion when I start and/or stop.
First thing in the morning when I start moving it's not there, starts up after driving for 10 minutes or so.
I'm guessing it's not a real critical safety issue?
Next time at the mechanic I'll have em look into it.
I work as a courier so I get my oil changed quite frequently.
