I could be way off on this but I thought typically the bar would go around the cowl in a way so that you can keep it on... if not then it's usually just a couple of small bolts to remove it, then remove the strut tower bolts (don't jack up the car) slide the strut tower bar on over the bolts and put the nuts back on and tighten them down....

If it's an eBay strut bar...read my FAQ...just search 7th Gen Strut Bar Installation.

It should be the same principle for all.

I should have been more clear. the one I have is from the 7th gen 6mt. not an aftermarket one..it mounts to 4 different points, 2 of which are under the cowl- from what i understand..

Correct. One of the bolts under the cowl is an easy reach - driver's side. The other is a bugger. I just propped up that side of the cowl to access the bolt but it would be much easier if you just remove it. I also had to drill a small hole in the new brace to accept a screw for theclamp/hold downfor the throtlle cable if I recall correctly......but mine is the four banger. Sorry I don't know how to remove the cowl but anyplace that replaces windshields could tell you. Most just pop out but I can't confirm that. Take you time threading the new brace through all the cables and such, it can be frustrating.

I would imagine it is pretty frustrating.. i just did my CAI last night and it turned out to be a PITA! my radio wouldnt turn on and I thought i knocked a ground loose. So i took the bumper cover off more times than I needed to....Oh well..I got my radio code now so thats a plus..

Thanks for the help guys...
