strut assembly recommendations
Im looking to replace the struts on my 96 Accord LX 4 dr. They have about 180k on them and theres a creaking sound whenever I hit a bump. I figured that was a good place to start. Im looking at the KYB GR-2 / Excel-G from rockauto. What else do I need to replace them? mounts etc?

i just bought and am gonna install 2moro. Monroe Quick Struts from rockauto. They come w/ struts, springs and top mounts all together. Just pull out old and insert new. No messing w/ a spring compressor & cost less than a good strut and mount w/o spring. Also until end of month they are buy 3 get 1 free w/ rebate.

You may want to start w/ replacing the stabliizer (anti-sway) bar end bushings. These frequently cause groaning, squeaking, and clunking noises during turns. Loosen the L and R guide bushings and lube them w/ lubriplate (white grease) or other rubber lube. Replace the end bushings. Easy 1-hr DIY job.
