2008 Honda Accord Rims

RE: 2008 Honda Accord Rims
Can TPMS be transfered from one set to another? I have the TPMS on my tc, but the previous owner apparently was really good at getting VERY close to the curb when parallel parking. All of the rims' lips are chapped!!!! I've considered the TRD rims, but I like some others more ..... can you say Momo?

RE: 2008 Honda Accord Rims
OH! I was looking all over the web for someone who has already installed the HONDA 19" HFP PDS-10 ALLOY WHEELS on the '08 sedan! I actually joined this forum for this issue!! Every website I have checked notes out that these wheels are to be installed on the '08 Coupe ONLY!!!! I think it has to do with the suspension system and the tire width - 245!!! Any ideas???
I really like the MOMO 19" STIRKE WHEELS as well

Here is a pic of the HFP 19x8 with 245/40/19 T1R's. I just put them on today. I still need to find some coilovers as soon as they become available.
Peace

RE: 2008 Honda Accord Rims
WOW!!! THAT'S AWESOME!!!! They look REALLY nice, CONGRATS!
But I have more questions for you:
1- How much did you pay for them and if you bought them online can you please send me the website of both rims and tires?
2- What tire brand did you install? and in which performance category? I really like the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season Tires but they only come in 245/35ZR19 or 245/45ZR19!!!
Do you think they would fit or 35 is too low or 45 is too high?
3- Did you install them at the dealership because of the TPMS or somewhere else? Have you used the sensors that already came with the car or you purchased new ones?
4- You have mentioned something about some coilovers!!
I don't really get it; do you still have to install other stuff in order to maintain the same performance or it's just for enhancing it?
I am really new to HONDAs and the after market rims world, so I would really appreciate it if you can help me out here.
Thanks and enjoy the 19"ers

Nomad:
1- How much did you pay for them and if you bought them online can you please send me the website of both rims and tires?
I got the rim locally in So Cal. I think a guy on this thread said he priced them at $300/ea. Look for his post. I also got the tires locally for about $230/ea (incl mounting and Bal)
2- What tire brand did you install? and in which performance category? I really like the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season Tires but they only come in 245/35ZR19 or 245/45ZR19!!!
The tires at Toyo Proxies T1R. They have a ZR rating too. They are Ultra performace tires for sedans and coupes.
Do you think they would fit or 35 is too low or 45 is too high?
35's is your best bet but the ride will be firmer due to the low side wall height, 45's will be too tall (7% over oem). Use this link to help you determine your tire size. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
3- Did you install them at the dealership because of the TPMS or somewhere else? Have you used the sensors that already came with the car or you purchased new ones?
I had them mounted at a local tire shop that can handle painted and plus series rims (a speed shop). I bought the factory TPMS sensors that are listed for these rims.
4- You have mentioned something about some coilovers!!

These tires are a little taller than the OEM specs so the coilovers will allow me to adjust the cars' ride height with minimal impact to the quality of the ride. I think the car needs to be dropped about 1" to look right again. I called my supplier and he said that he has not seen any 08 coilovers, so I need to wait until they come out with some. Honda does not sell a suspension kit for this car but I think some of the Acura sway bars, etc are interchangeable with the Honda line.
AHM had various reason for not incl. this 19" rim as an option for the sedan but they were made to fit both Accord coupe and sedans as you can see. No rubbing at all.
Good Luck!!!
