Default Autocross Tires?

I apologize if this is not in the right section.

I have a 2004 Honda Accord LX 4cyl sedan (K24A4) that I use for autocross (you read that right ), and was wondering what would be a good track tire? The tires will be only be used for the track, and run on stock tires and steelies when i'm not at the track. So basically I need to be able to switch between the two when I' am at the track. I will be buying rim and tires. Money is not a big deciding factor, I just need more grip. That and destroying everyday tires is not fun. Thanks.

Side question: Is this worth it? :http://throwdownperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=748

Welcome newbie! Yes this is the right section for tire questions, but I don't know the answer for you.

I don't think I'd like that e-throttle modifier thing. But first you should verify that you actually have a motorized throttle - I thought they weren't in for another year or 2. My 2003 LX did NOT have a motorized throttle.

What size wheels are you going to run? 17" is probably the best mix of low profile sidewalls and lightweight. I currently have 225/40/18 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW tires on and they're great. Something with a low treadwear rating would be a good start.

Also, that e-throttle gizmo doesn't seem worth it. It's not going to get you more throttle, you're stuck between 0-100%; it just changes the sensitivity of the pedal.

Thanks for the input guys and for a speedy reply. I do plan on running either a 16" or 17" rim (18" would be my max). Also, what about a wider* tire, whats the widest* I can get away with without modifcations if so possible. If anyone else has anymore ideas feel free to drop your comments. Thanks.
