Default tire size question

I have some tires and rims that i am going to sell to a friend for a 2005 Honda Accord LX. My question is that the tire size is 205/40/16. Is there any problem with putting these tires on that car? They fit, but i wanted to double check before selling them to her. Thank You for any input.

Depends on which model your friend has. Here's some quick stats i found for you:

Accord 2005 [how the change will effect the car:]
Coupe/Sedan v4: oem - 205/65/15. Speedometer reads: 60mph. Actual speed: 52.9.
Coupe/Sedan v6: oem - 205/60/16. Speedometer reads: 60mph. Actual speed: 52.5.

The rims won't cause any problems since they fit, but your friend will have difficulty determining how fast the car really is going since the difference of size of the tires will effect what the speedometer reads.

Here's a tire calculator if you or your friend want to find the right tires equivalent to the oem.

edit note: spelling correction.

Thank you for the info DJ. I assume safety should not be an issue other than the quality of tire being used?

thanks for your input wheelbroker. There will be the issue with the speedometer not being accurate right? Do you know of any products and or ways in which it can be fixed? Thanks
