Tire Wear
My mom's 04 accord just got a flat and they took it in to have it fixed... They told her she needs 4 new tires. I thinkthey seem to be inalright condintion for another year or so.. Even though they are the tires that came on the car when she bought it new in 04 ( now has about 40k on it)... Here are some pictures.. let me know if u think sheshould get new orfix old... ASAP!!
Thanks

RE: Tire Wear
Those don't look too worn out to me, but do the "penny test": Take a penny and flip it so Lincoln's head isupside down. Put the penny in each tread (mainly the 4 grooves you can seeclearly in the 1st pic)on all tires and see how far up the pennythe rubbergoes. Maybe take some pictures with the penny in there? If the rubber does not cover up any of Lincoln's head, it is definitely time for new tires.

I don't know if it's just the photos but it looks like the inside (or perhaps outside) of that tire is worn signifigantly more than the rest of it... if that's the case then at least that tire needs to be replaced and your alignment needs checked....

Take the car to another tire store and see what they say. I use Discount Tire but there are crooks in every major chain.
I agree with the penny test although I would never let the tread depth get below Lincoln's head.
I just replaced tires on my Accord. Probably had 10,000 more miles on the treads but the new ones are way more comfy and I definitely feel the difference.
Plan on spending minimum $400.00 on a decent set of tires. I went with the Bridgestone Potenza after a few days looking at tire reviews on tire.com and discounttire.com for the Accord.

I never got the chance to do the penny test but thanks for the advice that will come in handy later i am sure.. she ended up gettin new firestone firehawks... whichis what they are putting on the new Chargers in our area so they should be long lasting and the ride is much smoother !

If those tires edges are feathered like they look in the picture , then they will have to be replaced. Did they say anything about the struts needing to be replaced???

RE: Tire Wear
if those old tires were worn unevenly, like the inside tread was more worn than the outside tread then make certain you get that fixed or you're going to blow through those new tires a LOT faster....
