Default Tires for the 96 Accord.

I'm not ready to buy them yet, but the Accord is going to need new tires before its safe to be driven on the road.

It has a set of American Racing 15" aluminum alloys that dont look too bad, although I'd prefer a set of OEM alloys off a newer Honda Fit. If I find a set before I buy new tires for these wheels, maybe I'll go with them instead.

Anyway, assuming that doesn't happen, I'm looking at these: https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+A%2FS+P0 2+%28H-+or+V-Speed+Rated%29&partnum=965HR5HTRASP02&vehicleSearc h=false&fromCompare1=yes

I know there are better tires, and on the other hand, there are cheaper tires, but I think these are pretty good for the money. Was kinda hoping someone here has or had the same specific type of tire.

I put Sumitomo 17" low profile performance tires on my 1995 Taurus, and I really like them. Conversely, my 2005 Honda Element AWD has Sumitomo "Touring" tires (which are available in the Accord's size, and are cheaper than those above), which I am not at all impressed with. I plan to replace them with BF Goodrich all terrain tires eventually. So, it would seem that the higher end Sumitomo tires are pretty good, but of course I want a second (or +) opinion.

Just wanted to know some opinions and suggestions, experiences and so forth from you guys (and gals?). The goal is to make the Accord into something that can be used as a daily driver. I live down south, and aside from occasional ice and very rare snow, winter traction is not an issue (and I would obviously use my AWD SUV in the snow anyway). Some things we do have are heavy rain storms, and very hot summer temperatures. I'm not looking to find the best tire outright, more like the best tire *for the money*.

Thanks in advance.

Probably the wheels from a Honda Fit will have the wrong bolt circle.

They're both 4x114.3 lug pattern.

OK, for some reason I thought the Fit had 5-lug wheels. I should've checked.

Edit: my mistake, I thought the lug pattern was the same.

So I just looked it up.
1996 Accord uses 4 x 114.3
2015 Fit uses 4 x 100

You're right! Somehow I got mixed up and thought the Accord, Civic and Fit all shared the same patterns, when it was only the latter two. My apologies.

That's true, but odds are I'll end up getting an older 4 lug Civic or CRX eventually. Lol

Thinking about getting these for the '96, they're off a 1998 coupe. They're $150, two tires are supposed to be great, two need replacing (which is fine because I have two 15" coming, the same ones I asked about in the initial post on this thread).
