Default Wheel Locks? Good Idea?

My Accord came with pretty nice rims. Any reason I shouldn't buy wheel locks? Thanks.

nothing wrong with them. I use tuner lug nuts...use special key on ALL my lug nuts not just one of them. They are good insurance

It kinda depends on where you live & the crime rates.

Thanks. I'll give them a try. They aren't too expensive.

Any thief worth their salt has a key set, for the average Joe you'll probably save your tires but if someone who knows what they're doing wants your rims wheel locks aren't going to stop them. Plus they aren't all that hard to break off anyway. Ericthecarguy has a how to on it. They'll probably give the thief an extra 45 seconds of effort per tire.

I have bought a few cars that were missing the keys to the wheels locks.

Never took me more than a few mins to pull them off, I just tap a socket over lock and they come right off.

there is also a tapered socket that most wheel shops and wheel thieves have, makes removing them even easier.

it's good insurance. But if someone wants your car your rims or nything in your car. They will get it.
